What are you doing this weekend? Ngày cuối tuần này bạn làm gì?
Để hỏi giờ, các em có thể sử dụng các mẫu câu sau:
- "What time?"
- "What's the time?"
- "What time is it?"
- "Have you got the right time?"
- "What time do you make it?"
- "Excuse me, what time is it?" Xin lỗi. Bây giờ là mấy giờ rồi vậy?
- "Excuse me. Could/Can you tell me the time, please?"
- "Could you please tell me what time it is?" Xin lỗi. Bạn có thể vui lòng cho mình biết bây giờ là mấy giờ rồi không?
It + be + số giờ + o'clock.
- It's ten o'clock. Bây giờ là 10 giờ.
- It's ten o'clock sharp. 10 giờ đúng.
- It's ten.
a. Không trang trọng (trong giao tiếp thường ngày): các em sử dụng hai con số: số trước chỉ giờ, số sau chỉ phút.
It + be + số giờ + số phút.
- It's one fifteen. (1 giờ 15) - ten twenty-five (10 giờ 25)
Với số phút nhỏ hơn 10, các em sử dụng:
- It's two oh five. (2 giờ 5)
b. Trang trọng
- It's ten past eight. (8 giờ 10) - twenty-five past eleven (11 giờ 25)
Người Mĩ thường dùng AFTER thay cho PAST
- It's ten after eight.
- It's half past seven. (7 giờ 30 / 7 rưỡi)
- It's twenty to eleven. (10 giờ 40 / 11 giờ kém 20)
Ngoài ra, từ before có thể được sử dụng để thay cho to
- It's twenty before eleven.
c. Chú ý
- It is fifteen past seven. = It is a quarter past seven. (7 giờ 15)
- It is fifteen to nine. = It is a quarter to nine. (8 giờ 45/ 9 giờ kém 15)
- I get up at five o'clock every day. Tôi thức dậy vào lúc 5 giờ mỗi ngày.
